We reply the same day
Usually within a few hours, always by the next morning we are open. You will get a price and a pickup window in writing.

Pay when you collect
No deposit for pies and bread. Cakes over $100 take a half deposit, payable by phone or at the counter.

Pick it up, boxed and ready
Your order waits behind the counter with your name on it. Say the name, take the box, we will be delighted to see you.

Any pie on the menu, plus apple and pumpkin from October. Nine inches, feeds eight.
Special-occasion cake
1 week
Six- or eight-inch, one flavor, writing on top if you want it. Tiered cakes need three weeks.
Bread for a crowd
72 hours
Six loaves or more, any mix. Handy for holidays, potlucks and people who freeze things.
Pastry platter
72 hours
Two or three dozen assorted, arranged on a board you return whenever. Good for meetings.
Something else entirely
Ask us
Wedding bread, a cake shaped like a heron, forty hand pies. Tell us the idea and we will tell you honestly.

Questions we get a lot
How far ahead should I order?
Pies need two days, cakes need a week, tiered cakes need three. Around Thanksgiving and Christmas the book fills up a month out, so get in early — we would rather tell you yes.
Can you do allergies and dietary needs?
We can go dairy-free and egg-free on several cakes, and the chocolate olive oil cake is dairy-free as it stands. We cannot do gluten-free: there is flour in the air of this building all day and we will not pretend otherwise.
What if I need it today?
Come in and see what is on the shelf — that is the whole idea. Whole pies come out most mornings and are usually gone by noon.
Do you deliver?
No. We are four people and two ovens. Everything is pickup at the shop during opening hours.
Can I change or cancel?
Yes, up to 48 hours before pickup for cakes and 24 hours for everything else. After that we have already bought the butter.
